An Army Shot

Here they are all together. A whole mess of elves.

I did some math and by my calculations I've got a base of around 1100 points here! That's more than I thought it would be, considering it's not really a functional army yet. Right now I'm just trying to plan my next step. Maybe some tree friends to accompany the tree herder in the back?

Elf Archers Done!

Well, it's taken me some time, but I've finished my elf projects (for now)

They may not be fancy, but they are painted! Over 60 elf figures painted now, which for me is pretty darn good. I'll put up an army post soon. They aren't a full army yet, I don't think, but I'm closer than I've ever been before.

Star Saga!

My fiancee and I got the chance to try out Star Saga the other day! It's always a good day when we've got time to play a bit of a board game, and this one went well! Just a few pictures, because I spent a lot of time flipping through the rule book. It's not an overly complicated game by any mean, I just have a terrible memory for rules.

We played the tutorial mission, where the blue mercenary (played by my fiancee) has to unlock a door, and then open it!

It was more fun than that sounds.

Luck and doors were on her side, and though I (playing as the dungeon master or "nexus") managed to wound her once and made an attempt at an ambush from behind, she was victorious. The door was opened, and the mission a success!

Overall, a fun little scenario, and a good way to pay 30 minutes or so.

Elf Gladestalkers Done!

Well, I'm moving forward a little bit every month.

Maybe not as fast as I want to, but every bit of paint is progress. That's my motto. Next are the bowmen. Bow elves? Archers!

Mini Battle Report #3

Well, I managed to play the last battle in the campaign. I'm going to make this one quick, because I played it a couple of weeks ago, and I don't quite remember what happened! Memory, it's a tricky thing.

The goblins and ratkin faced off once again, on a similar field to the one before. It all came down to this final struggle.

The rats once again sent their night terror charging wildly into the fray, hoping to tear some goblins into goblin bites!

At this it failed, and things looked bad for the ratkin, with a flank charge and trolls smashing things up.

But the goblins hadn't counted on getting charged themselves, and not only did the terror survive, the brave* goblin warriors were soon routed! *Bravery may be variable.

The goblin spitters and the goblin wizard tried to save the day with arrows and lightning once again, and failed. The trolls also continued to fair. A lot of failing was going on., if you were a goblin.

In the end, by the time the trolls eventually won their own battle, the rest of the goblin army was dead or fled. A clear victory to the Ratkin, and with that, they win the campaign! They win the gloves of destiny, or whatever they're called in the campaign book.

So that was that! A fun little set of games to play. Hopefully my next real game will involved some elves, of course.
